Life has a way of teaching us lessons whether we like it or not. I always dreamed that I would be the caregiver to my grandpa and that did not happen because of his unexpected passing. I never did think that I would be the caregiver to my grandma, a fiercely independent and stubborn woman.

In my work as an activity assistant to companion and then occupational therapist, I thought I knew how to deal with my own family members as they aged. Taking care of your aging loved one is an entirely different story in itself.

I started this blog to hopefully share my lessons in my professional work as well as my own personal experiences with the many other caregivers in the community. I hope this helps in your journey.
